The kittens' eyes are all starting to open and they are wobbling around as they try to walk rather than crawl. They are amazing little miracles and I can't take my eyes off of them!
Cheryl is an adorable little stretcher...
And Ray is such a sensitive little doll!
Watch them all in action as they wiggle and woggle around their nest!
Malory and her kittens were rescued from a shelter only a day after she gave birth. Momma has adopted a few orphans along the way and they are a happy, silly family of kitties. Follow their journey at LDCRF as the grow and find homes of their own!

Catching up!
Thanks to some extra feedings and a little interference during dinner time, my little runt is gaining weight again and all is right in the world.

Little Runt
My little runt has not been gaining weight like the others. The poor little one has been getting pushed out of the way during meal times, so it's time for me to step in and make sure everyone gets a turn! While the others napped, little one got a chance to finally nurse. We are going to get him nice and fat like the others.

Milk Belly
Orangey has a full milk belly! They are so young that they have their umbilical cords are still attached.
Fun with the littles
The kittens are four days old today and my goodness they are silly and cute!
Tabby says "Oopsie!" as he slides down his orange sibling...
Orange momma's boy gives her more kisses.
Followed by some after dinner yoga....
Which of course lead to kitten hugs!
And an attempt to climb over momma, but orangey got tired. So he fell asleep.
Malory is such a good momma and is taking extra good care of her babies!

Dinner time!
Momma is taking good care of her babies! They are all growing and love to eat, eat, and eat some more!
And after dinner it's time to nap, nap, and nap some more!
Watch them in all of their kitten pile glory!
Gray tabby can move!
Peekaboo! I found you!
Momma moved the itty bitty kitty committee last night to one of the hooded beds in the room. Imagine the our surprise when the nest was empty! We made some changes to the kitten nest and momma is happy again. Hopefully we can avoid another road trip...

Born in a shelter
I called Prince Georges Animal Shelter in search of a litter of kittens needing to be saved. What I found was a momma cat giving birth in the shelter that very day! So the scheduled a transport for early the next morning! LDCRF was going to save that momma and her babies (along with another momma, her three 2 week old babies, and three shy single kittens)!
That morning I met all of the kitties and loaded them into several carriers to make their way over the bridge from Maryland to Northern Virginia. My tortie momma and her 1 day old kittens took shot gun and I was in love before we pulled out of the parking lot.
When we got home, I helped my sweet momma and her little babies get settled into the kitten room I had prepared the night before. Momma is so sweet and gentle. She purrs and loves to be petted. Her babies are so tiny and adorable. I can't get over how itty bitty her babies are and how beautiful they will become.
They can barely crawl, but they are an active little bunch of babies...
